Immortal

This series of sculptures in painting is a quest for ‘eternity.’ Stone statues and religious buildings inherently carry rich symbolic meanings—representing power, religion, and manmade idols. Time, physical migration, and the erosion caused by both natural and human forces have led to their decay. After the faces and gestures fade, their mere existence becomes a heavy, silent presence. These structures and idols, originally built as symbols of eternity, inevitably face the degradation and destruction of materiality. As time passes and significance fades, no hero or authority canendure, as if by fate.
